Oki M, et al. - This investigation was pursued to determine the number of needle passes needed for the diagnosis of stage I/II sarcoidosis using endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA). For either single or multiple lesions, at least 4 passes per patient were recommended in case of non-availability of rapid on-site cytological assessment.
