Hormone therapy in postmenopausal women associated with risk of stroke and venous thromboembolism: A population-based cohort study in Taiwan

Chang WC, et al. - Using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database, researchers conducted a retrospective cohort study evaluating the risks and benefits of hormone therapy (HT) in Taiwanese postmenopausal women. According to findings, HT may be associated with an increased cardiovascular disease risk in Taiwanese postmenopausal women. Despite the fact that women in the study population who received HT were near menopausal age, their risk of cardiovascular disease was still higher vs those in the non-HT group.
