Histone H3K36M mutation and trimethylation patterns in chondroblastoma
Histopathology Aug 19, 2018
Lu C, et al. - In the present study, researchers evaluated the sensitivity of mutation specific antibody and the alterations of histone methylation in a series of chondroblastoma cases. For this investigation, immunohistochemical stains using antibodies for H3K36M, trimethylated histones (H3K27me3 and H3K36me3), and osteoblastic marker (SATB2) were conducted on 27 chondroblastomas from 27 subjects. According to the findings obtained, the vast majority of chondroblastomas were positive for H3K36M by immunohistochemical analysis, which confirms its diagnostic value. They found that, in these tumors, the expression of H3K27me3 and H3K36me3 were heterogeneous.
