Histopathology Jun 14, 2019
Kemi N, et al. - Via a study conducted retrospectively in a cohort of 583 gastric adenocarcinoma patients treated surgically, the contributors sought to evaluate the feasibility and prognostic significance of assessing stromal maturity. Categorization of patients were into mature stroma and immature stroma groups was carried out. Worse five-year survival in patients with immature stroma when compared to patients with mature stroma was observed. Hence, the author concluded that stromal maturity as an independent prognostic factor in gastric adenocarcinoma, and it could be assessed with moderate reproducibility.
