Histogram analysis derived from DCE-MRI in head and neck squamous cell cancer – Associations with Microvessel density
European Journal of Radiology Sep 20, 2019
Meyer HJ, et al. - Thirty individuals with histologically proven head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) were involved in the study in order to clarify possible correlations between microvessel density and histogram parameters in HNSCC. Median derived from Ktrans associated with vessel area. No other Ktrans or Ve parameter reached statistically importance. Various Kep derived parameters associated with vessel area as well as with vessel count. The highest correlation coefficient with the vessel area was noted in MinKep. The highest coefficient with vessel count was discovered in ModeKep. Thus, in HNSCC, histogram parameters derived from Kep might be utilized as the alternative imaging biomarkers for the microvessel density parameter. Moreover, MinimumKep exhibited the highest correlation with vessel area and Mode Kep with vessel count.
