Holndonner-Kirst E, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers tested their hypothesis that perioperative liver dysfunction is associated with worse 2-year survival after orthotopic heart transplantation. Post-heart transplantation was found to be negatively influenced by the severity of postoperative liver dysfunction. A close assessment of liver function in these patients was recommended.
