Higher incidence of metachronous advanced neoplasia in patients with synchronous advanced neoplasia and left-sided colorectal resection for colorectal cancer
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Mar 28, 2018
Yabuuchi Y, et al. - During this study, authors examined the incidence of metachronous advanced neoplasia (AN) after surgery for colorectal cancer (CRC) according to resection type and synchronous AN. Data disclosed that synchronous AN, but not resection type, exhibited an independent link with the incidence of metachronous AN in subjects who underwent surgical resection of CRC. Individuals with synchronous AN after left-sided colorectal resection demonstrated a potentially greater risk for metachronous AN. Therefore, it was possibly useful for carrying out the risk stratification according to synchronous AN and resection type.
