Arthritis & Rheumatism Dec 03, 2017
Szentpetery A, et al. - Researchers undertook this study to determine the impact of metabolic syndrome (Metsy) and psoriatic disease-related variables on coronary plaque burden in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) patients. Findings revealed that independent of metabolic disease, PsA was related to accelerated coronary plaque formation, particularly mixed plaques. In addition, it was observed that coronary plaque burden may be better predicted by psoriatic disease activity and severity as compared with traditional risk factors.
