High risk clinical features for acute aortic dissection: A case control study
Academic Emergency Medicine Dec 14, 2017
Ohle R, et al. - Researchers carried out this study to determine the diagnostic accuracy of clinical and laboratory findings for acute aortic dissection (AAD), in confirmed cases of AAD and a low risk control group. In this study, presence of tearing/ripping pain, aortic aneurysm, hypotension, pulse deficit, neurological deficits, and a new murmur were helpful in diagnosing AAD. Patients should be considered high risk in the presence of one or more high-risk feature, whereas patients with no high risk and multiple low risk features were at low risk for AAD.
