High-resolution MRI microscopy coil assessment of parotid masses
ENT Journal Apr 14, 2019
Ginat DT, et al. - Investigators evaluated the impact of high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) microscopy coil imaging on the depiction parotid masses. They noticed a better definition of the margins of neoplasms with a more detailed definition of lymph node morphology as well as a better depiction of certain cyst contents in the superficial portions of the parotid gland in microscopy coil images vs conventional parotid MRI sequences. Significantly better fat-suppressed postcontrast T1-weighted microscopy coil images were observed when compared to the corresponding T2-weighted images to delineate the superficial parotid gland.
