High prevalence of antithyroid antibodies in a New Zealand cohort of patients with systemic sclerosis
JCR: Journal of Clinical Rheumatology Jul 30, 2018
Solanki KK, et al. - Experts tested the presumption that systemic sclerosis (SSc) is correlated with higher prevalence of antithyroglobulin (anti-Tg) and anti–thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO) antibodies) to justify monitoring of thyroid function for earlier detection and treatment. Findings suggested that compared to the general population, a higher prevalence of antithyroid antibodies (ATAs) in SSc and SOS was noted. Conducting a screening for ATAs in these patients has been suggested as a reasonable measure.
