High frequency jet ventilation for motion management during ablation procedures: A narrative review
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica Aug 19, 2017
Galmen K, et al. – Researchers undertook this study to summarize current evidence pertaining to the clinical use of high frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) for ablative procedures. They found that well–designed studies evaluating HFJV during ablation procedures were lacking. Although sparse, the available data supported the impact of less tissue movement, causing better surgical precision and outcome; such as shorter procedural time, fewer shock waves (ESWL) and less recurrence of atrial fibrillation.
