Hidradenitis suppurativa and Down syndrome: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
Pediatric Dermatology Sep 11, 2020
Lam M, Lai C, Almuhanna N, et al. - Via systematically searching MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, and CENTRAL electronic databases from their dates of conception to February 2020, researchers sought to describe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) in Down syndrome (DS), a common chromosomal disorder, patients and to further explore the connection between HS and DS vs HS patients without DS. Twelve studies were involved in this systematic review, with a total of 358 candidates presenting with both HS and DS. The findings suggest a link between HS and DS, with DS patients suffering from an earlier onset of HS symptoms vs non‐DS patients.
