Arngrim N, et al. - The experts embraced this study to ascertain the possible correlation between the multifaceted phenomenology of aura symptoms and the effects of cortical spreading depression (CSD) on the brain. They revealed that different aura symptoms showed different types of cerebral dysfunction, which corresponded to specific changes in blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) signal reactivity. They also gave evidence of bilateral CSD recorded by functional MRI (fMRI) during bilateral aura symptoms.
