Hepatitis B virus core-related antigen levels predict progression to liver cirrhosis in hepatitis B carriers

Tada T, et al. - Researchers carried out this study to explain the predictive effect of hepatitis B virus (HBV) markers on progression to cirrhosis in HBV carriers. In HBV carriers, elevated HBcrAg levels increased the risk for progression to cirrhosis. HBcrAg was an excellent predictor of the development of cirrhosis.
