Hepatitis B virus and risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma: An updated meta-analysis of 58 studies
Journal of Viral Hepatitis Apr 08, 2018
Li M, et al. - The findings of independent studies were combined to comprehensively assess the association between hepatitis B virus (HBV) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) using a meta-analysis. Findings suggested that compared to T-cell NHL, B-cell NHL had a stronger association with HBV infection. HBV infection was significantly associated with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and follicular lymphoma, but not with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) and Burkitt lymphoma. This meta-analysis thereby supports a positive link between HBV infection and NHL development.
