Delladetsima I, et al. - This research entailed the determination of the possible presence and topography of Hepatic progenitor cells (HPCs) in liver metastases. The finding unveiled the presence of HPCs at the periphery and the interior of liver metastatic carcinomas. It was noted that bile ductules and small interlobular bile ducts could attract carcinoma cells serving as potential “metastatic niche”, in line with their recognized role as HPC was found to niche in non-neoplastic liver.
