Heart failure with preserved vs reduced ejection fraction following cardiac rehabilitation: Impact of endothelial function
Heart and Vessels Feb 06, 2018
Tanaka S, et al. - Research has shown beneficial responses to cardiac rehabilitation (CR) among heart failure patients. In this current investigation, responses to CR were compared between patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and those with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). They found that CR improved prognosis in HF patients, however, a larger effect can be expected in HFrEF patients vs in HFpEF patients, and endothelial function may enhance the effect.
