Health-related quality of life in solid organ transplant recipients with vs without keratinocyte carcinoma
JAMA Feb 06, 2020
Frie M, Annema C, Knijff ESX, et al. - The present study intended to correlate generic health-related quality of life (HRQoL) between solid organ transplant recipients with and without Keratinocyte carcinoma (KC) and explored variables associated with KC-specific HRQoL in solid organ transplant recipients using the Basal and Squamous Cell Carcinoma Quality of Life (BaSQoL). The KC is the most common malignant disease in solid organ transplant recipients, but, in solid organ transplant recipients, researchers recognize little about its relationship with overall (generic) HRQoL and KC-specific HRQoL. This topic is not addressed by KC-specific HRQoL questionnaires, although previous research revealed that sun-protective behavior increases after KC treatment. The newly developed BaSQoL questionnaire does evaluate the relationship of behavior changes with HRQoL.
