Health-related quality of life in patients with nonsurgical hypoparathyroidism and pseudohypoparathyroidism
Clinical Endocrinology Apr 11, 2018
Underbjerg L, et al. - Researchers enquired regarding the Quality of Life (QoL) in the case of nonsurgical hypoparathyroidism (NS-HypoPT) and pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP) including information about education in this cohort study. In contrast with postsurgical HypoPT, Ns-HypoPT and PHP appeared to be compatible at most domains. Ns-HypoPT and PHP patients scored significantly lower at the domains Physical Function, Social Function and Mental Health. furthermore, it was reported that at the Mental Component Score, patients with Ns-HypoPT had a lower score compared with postsurgical HypoPT. The inference drawn was that QoL was impaired equally among patients with Ns-HypoPT and PHP.
