Kauppila JH, et al. – Health–related quality of life (HRQOL) outcomes 6 months after extended total gastrectomy, subtotal esophagectomy, and combined esophagogastrectomy were assessed in this study. For patients with gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma, extended total gastrectomy, subtotal esophagectomy, and combined esophagogastrectomy appeared to yield similar 6–month postoperative HRQOL outcomes.
