Khan JM, et al. - Electrifying a coronary guidewire may be a simple escalation strategy when trans-septal needle puncture is unsuccessful. In this current study, it was demonstrated that in the setting of conventional trans-septal puncture failure, use of a coronary guidewire can safely and effectively deliver brief radiofrequency energy and hence, can be used. Furthermore, this technique was inexpensive and accessible to operators.
