Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Mar 18, 2018
McLaughlin CM, et al. - This research encompassed the elucidation of the growth trajectory in infants with short bowel syndrome (SBS) as a function of nutritional intake during first 2 years of life. A greater risk of poor growth was found among babies with SBS during the first 2 years of life. Weaning PN was vital for these patients. Nevertheless, doing so too quickly in infancy could contribute to compromised growth. It was determined that the long-term impact on overall development remained unknown.
