Growth hormone cotreatment for poor responders undergoing in vitro fertilization cycles: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Fertility and Sterility Jun 19, 2020
Cozzolino M, Cecchino GN, Troiano G, et al. - Researchers examined whether in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes of poor responders could be improved with providing growth hormone (GH) supplementation, via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis. Inclusion of 12 RCTs was performed; 586 women were assigned to the intervention group and 553 to the control group. Per outcomes of the analysis, there was no increased live birth rate, miscarriage rate, or ongoing pregnancy rate among patients receiving GH supplementation. However, poor responders had raised clinical pregnancy rate, number of oocytes retrieved (mean difference 1.62), number of mature oocytes (mean difference 2.06), and number of embryos available to transfer (mean difference 0.76) in correlation with receiving GH supplementation.
