Sarkis RA, et al. - An inquiry was set up with regard to the cognitive and psychosocial outcomes of subjects older than 50 with drug-resistant temporal lobe epilepsy vs a younger cohort. It was deduced that older patients with drug-resistant epilepsy presented as a vulnerable population with an impaired cognitive profile. Clinicians were recommended to prioritize limiting of the number of AEDs and addressing markers of small vessel disease.
