Eckardt H, et al. - This study was planned to determine the functional outcome after sacroiliac stabilisation in the elderly. Researchers identified CT guided stabilisation of the posterior pelvis as safe. Most patients resumed good function and independent living with this procedure. The risk of a revision operation was 20%, but the risk of implant loosening could be reduced with trans-sacral screw stabilisation in both S1 and S2.
