Ralevski E, et al. - The clinicians investigated the direct relationships between fasting ghrelin levels and reward sensitivity/impulsivity in healthy social drinkers. They found more sensitivity towards reward in individuals with higher levels of fasting ghrelin but less sensitivity to punishment. In addition, higher ghrelin levels were correlated with some aspects of impulsivity like decreased self-control and increased likelihood of acting without thinking.
