Alcohol and Alcoholism Dec 16, 2017
Elizabeth Ralevski E, et al. - In this study, the direct relationships between fasting ghrelin levels and reward sensitivity/impulsivity in healthy social drinkers were investigated. The authors found more sensitivity towards reward in individuals with higher levels of ghrelin. They were also less able to exercise self-control and to an extent more likely to act without thinking. The direct relationship between fasting ghrelin levels and personality characteristics like reward sensitivity and aspects of impulsivity was reported among healthy social drinkers.
