McKenzie-Sampson S, et al. - This retrospective cohort study was performed to determine whether gestational diabetes increased the risk of cardiovascular disease more than 2 decades after pregnancy. Gestational diabetes was correlated with an increased risk of heart disease 25 years after delivery in this population of pregnant women. For cardiovascular disease prevention after pregnancy, women with gestational diabetes could merit closer monitoring.
