Genome-wide microarray analysis of circRNAs revealed novel biomarkers for glioma treatment and their promoting effect on glioma progression
OncoTargets and Therapy Apr 07, 2020
Lyu X, et al. - In this study, genome-wide circRNAs expression and potential functions were evaluated in glioma to determine new therapeutic targets for glioma treatment. Researchers included a sum of 92 pairs of glioma tissue samples and adjacent control samples in this study. They applied microarray and bioinformatics tools to distinguish circRNAs expression in glioma. This research assessed cell viability and migration by Cell Counting Kit-8 and wound-healing assay in U251 and SHG-44 cells. Via Mann–Whitney U-test and Kaplan–Meier method, the statistical correlation and overall survival were estimated. Compared to control, a sum of 90 differentially expressed circRNAs were distinguished in glioma tissues. The results of this study exhibit that hsa_circ_0013520 and hsa_circ_0004379 were up-regulated in glioma tissues and cell lines, and their expression was positively associated with poor clinical features of glioma individuals, which may provide as new biomarkers for glioma diagnosis and therapy.
