Genetic polymorphisms in IL-7 and IL-7R are correlated with lung cancer risk in the Chinese Han population
Cancer Management and Research Jun 16, 2019
Zhang C, et al. - In this study with 1,010 participants, including lung cancer (LC) patients (n=507) and healthy controls (n=503), researchers assessed LC risk in relation to IL-7/IL-7R polymorphisms. Using Agena MassARRAY system, they performed genotyping of five single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IL-7R and one SNP in IL-7 in included samples. After adjusting for age and gender, they calculated OR and 95% CIs via logistic regression analysis. A decreased LC risk was reported in correlation with IL-7R rs10053847. Findings also revealed a correlation of IL-7R rs10213865 with an elevated lung adenocarcinoma risk. The possible essential roles of these two SNPs in LC risk assessment were suggested.
