Genetic alterations and their therapeutic implications in epithelial ovarian cancer
BMC Cancer May 13, 2021
Lapke N, Chen CH, Chang TC, et al. - This study was carried out to present genetic alterations and their therapeutic implications in epithelial ovarian cancer. In this study, 410 genes were sequenced to examine mutations and copy number variation of 82 ovarian carcinomas, including high-grade serous (n = 37), endometrioid (n = 22), and clear cell (n = 23) histologies. Researchers ascertained eligibility for targeted therapy for each patient by a pathway-based approach. In ovarian carcinomas, genetic alterations are complex and differ among histologies. As per the data, the outcomes aid the personalization of therapy and biomarker analysis for clinical studies and demonstrate a high potential for combinations of targeted therapies.
