General practitioners’ reasoning on risk screening and primary prevention of stroke – A focus group study
BMC Family Practice Dec 07, 2018
Patomella AH, et al. – In this study involving persons at risk for stroke in primary health care, researchers explored and described what characterizes general practitioners (GPs)’ reasoning around risk screening and primary prevention. Data collection was carried out by means of focus group interviews, and data were analyzed using a constant comparative method. Twenty-two GPs in four focus groups were interviewed in this analysis. According to findings, the quality of primary stroke prevention could be improved by developing new methods and approaches like digital clinical decision-making tools and by implementing inter-professional team-work.
