Gene expression profiles for a prognostic immunoscore in gastric cancer
British Journal of Surgery Jul 18, 2018
Zeng D, et al. - Based on the cellular composition of the immune infiltrate inferred from bulk tumor transcriptomes, researchers developed an immune signature to improve the prognostic predictions of gastric cancer. They estimated 22 types of immune cell fraction based on large public gastric cancer cohorts from the Gene Expression Omnibus using CIBERSORT, and then they constructed an immunoscore based on the fraction of immune cell types using a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression model. As per outcomes, the proposed immunoscore seemed to be a promising signature for estimating overall survival in patients with gastric cancer.
