Laverty AA, et al. – This study explored gender differences in hospitalizations for acute myocardial infarction (AMI), stroke, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) in people with and without diabetes. For this purpose, 11–year trends were analyzed. In females versus males, diabetes amplified the risk of hospital admission for AMI, however, the absolute risk continued to be higher in men.
