Heger F, et al. – This systematic review was performed to investigate the influence of gastric preconditioning on peri– or postoperative outcomes after esophageal resection. Evidence suggested that gastric preconditioning led to no reduction in overall rates of anastomotic leakage after esophageal resection but it reduced severity of leakages.
