Gastric cancer with synchronous and metachronous hepatic metastasis predicted by enhancement pattern on multiphasic contrast-enhanced CT
European Journal of Radiology Oct 04, 2018
Tsurumaru D, et al. - Researchers explored the link between the computed tomography (CT) features of the primary-site gastric cancer and the concurrent existence or postoperative recurrence of hepatic metastasis. Study participants were 125 subjects with advanced gastric cancer who were assessed by gastroscopy and contrast-enhanced CT at their institution from January 2013 to July 2016. Results of this study suggested that gastric cancer with synchronous and metachronous hepatic metastasis is inclined to exhibit early enhancement with a washout pattern on contrast-enhanced CT. In image surveillance for synchronous or metachronous hepatic metastasis of gastric cancer, this feature would be helpful.
