Lagravinese G, et al. - Researchers intended to examine whether gait initiation characteristics were influenced by emotional stimuli in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), with or without freezing of gait. Gait initiation was noted to be influenced by the emotional valence of visual stimuli in addition to the cognitive load of the task. Thereby, findings suggested that the limbic system could be involved in the freezing of gait.
