Functional outcomes associated with varying levels of targeted temperature management after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest — An INTCAR2 registry analysis
Resuscitation Nov 17, 2019
Johnsson J, Wahlström J, Dankiewicz J, et al. - International guidelines recommend targeted temperature management (TTM) after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest since 2005. Researchers here examined if a difference in temperature goal affects the outcome in an unselected international registry population. From the International Cardiac Arrest Registry 2, they included 1,710 patients. Of these, 1,242 (72,6%) received TTM in the lower range at 32–34 °C and 468 (27,4%) received TTM in the range at 35–37 °C. Outcomes revealed no significant difference in terms of functional outcome at hospital discharge between patients receiving lower- vs higher TTM management.
