Archives of Diseases in Childhood Jul 07, 2018
Hock J, et al. - In a recent cohort of children, adolescents and young adults with tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) after repair, the researchers explored the functional status with regard to exercise capacity, health-related physical fitness (HRPF) and arterial stiffness. Participants in the study were 106 patients with ToF after repair. Results revealed that patients with ToF exhibited lower predicted FormulaO2 peak, impaired ventilatory efficiency, chronotropic incompetence and reduced HRPF compared with healthy control. Findings suggested that contemporary children, adolescents and young adults with ToF still had functional limitations.
