Hock J, et al. - In a recent cohort of children, adolescents and young adults with tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) after repair, the researchers explored the functional status with regard to exercise capacity, health-related physical fitness (HRPF) and arterial stiffness. Participants in the study were 106 patients with ToF after repair. Results revealed that patients with ToF exhibited lower predicted FormulaO₂ peak, impaired ventilatory efficiency, chronotropic incompetence and reduced HRPF compared with healthy control. Findings suggested that contemporary children, adolescents and young adults with ToF still had functional limitations.
