Functional impairments for outcomes in a randomized trial of unruptured brain AVMs
Neurology® Sep 09, 2017
Mohr JP, et al. - The effects of medical vs interventional management on functional outcome were examined in A Randomized Trial of Unruptured Brain Arteriovenous Malformations (ARUBA). In ARUBA, death or stroke with functional impairment after a median follow-up of 33 months was significantly lower for those in the medical management (MM) arm both as randomized and as treated than those with interventional therapy (IT). In the MM arm, the functional severity of outcomes was lower, regardless of Spetzler-Martin grades.
