Fruit and vegetable consumption and breast cancer incidence: Repeated measures over 30 years of follow-up
International Journal of Cancer Dec 25, 2018
Farvid MS, et al. - Authors analyzed the association of fruit and vegetable consumption with incident breast cancer distinguished by menopausal status, hormone receptor status and molecular subtypes among 182 females in the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS, 1980–2012) and NHSII (1991–2013). They observed a less risk of breast cancer with greater intake of total fruits and vegetables, especially cruciferous and yellow/orange vegetables. They also found higher consumption of fruits and vegetables was correlated with a lower risk of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, basal-like and luminal A tumors.
