Frequencies and predictors of the lupus low disease activity state and remission in treatment-naïve patients with systemic lupus erythematosus
Rheumatology May 01, 2020
Gao D, Hao Y, Mu L, et al. - This study was undertaken to investigate the attainability of Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) and definitions of remission in SLE (DORIS) in a treatment-naïve cohort of SLE. Researchers characterized LLDAS5 as LLDAS with a prednisone dose ≤ 5 mg/day. They included treatment-naïve patients from Peking University First Hospital SLE cohort. The study population consisted of 218 patients, with a median follow-up of 4.48 years. The evidence validated that LLDAS was found to be an attainable early treatment target for SLE. Though with more difficulty, in two-thirds of the patients, RONT can be achieved. At present, ROFT may not be an ideal treatment target as it is only attained in few patients.
