Frequencies and malignancy rates of 6-tiered Bethesda categories of thyroid nodules according to ultrasound assessment and nodule size
Head & Neck Aug 16, 2018
Park VY, et al. - Researchers assessed the risk of malignancy of thyroid nodules according to Bethesda category, ultrasound features, and nodule size. In thyroid nodules >10 mm, findings suggested a greater reliability of benign and suspicious for malignant cytological results vs ≤10 mm displaying suspicious ultrasound features. As per data, in the >10 mm group statistically higher frequency of the benign cytology was seen when comparing the ultrasound suspicious nodules ≤10 mm and >10 mm, whereas in the ≤10 mm group, the nondiagnostic and suspicious for malignancy cytology were higher.
