Frailty in end-stage hip or knee osteoarthritis: Validation of the Groningen Frailty Indicator (GFI) questionnaire
Rheumatology International May 12, 2018
Meessen JMTA, et al. - Authors evaluated the validity of the Groningen Frailty Indicator (GFI) (a 15-item validated questionnaire for the elderly) in patients with end-stage hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA). GFI was completed by end-stage hip or knee OA patients before arthroplasty surgery. GFI was a feasible and valid questionnaire to evaluate frailty in end-stage hip and knee OA-patients, with 90% of participants completing it. As per data, out of the patients undergoing hip arthroplasty, one-third were frail and a quarter of those undergoing knee arthroplasty were frail.
