Fragrance contact allergens in 5,588 cosmetic products identified through a novel smartphone application

Bennike NH, et al. – This study resolved to investigate the exposure, based on ingredient labelling, to the 26 fragrances among5,588 fragranced cosmetic products. The findings brought to light the fact that consumers were widely exposed to, often multiple, well–established fragrance contact allergens via several cosmetic products intended for routine use. Several fragrance substances being common causes of contact allergy were occasionally labelled in this sample of cosmetic products.
