Fractional CO2 laser therapy for cesarean scar under the guidance of multiple evaluation methods: A retrospective study
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Dec 03, 2020
Zhang N, Yu X, Zhao J, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective study to introduce the treatment experience of fractional CO2 laser for cesarean scar under the guidance of multiple evaluation methods. Between January 2016 and January 2020, patients with cesarean scar undergoing fractional CO2 laser therapy were retrospectively analyzed in this analysis. The demographic features and treatment protocols, the Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS), the University of North Carolina “4P” Scar Scale (UNC4P), and the Antera3D score of all the enrolled patients were registered. In total, 79 cesarean scar patients participated in this research, with an average age of 28.1 years, the average scar age and length of 26.5 months and 8.5 cm, respectively. Findings suggested that fractional CO2 laser therapy for cesarean scar is an effective treatment. For guiding treatment protocols and assessing effectiveness, several assessment measures, including the combined application of VSS, UNC4P, and Antera3D score, may be potentially used. Meanwhile, for laser wound management, rhGM‐CSF hydrogel offers another alternative.
