Foveal microstructure analysis in eyes with diabetic macular edema treated with vitrectomy

Kogo J, et al. – The experts used optical coherence tomography (OCT), in order to assess the baseline and postoperative factors affecting outcomes after vitrectomy for diabetic macular edema (DME). Their findings indicated that photoreceptor outer segment (PROS) length predicts visual outcome in DME patients following vitrectomy with the inner limiting membrane (ILM) peeling and additional laser photocoagulation.
