Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Sep 18, 2020

Lithgow MJ, Munteanu SE, Buldt AK, et al. - This study was attempted to ascertain whether and how foot structure and lower limb function differ between individuals with and without midfoot osteoarthritis (OA). Researchers carried out to search electronic databases from inception until May 2020. This analysis screened a sum of 1,550 records by title and abstract and 11 met the inclusion criteria. Several differences were found in foot structure and lower limb function between individuals with and without midfoot OA. Further study with more consistent case definitions and detailed biomechanical models is required to understand the potential mechanisms underlying the development of midfoot OA.
