Follicular mucinosis in patients with hematologic malignancies other than mycosis fungoides: A clinicopathologic study
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Feb 06, 2019
Geller S, et al. - In this retrospective study, candidates were assessed for the clinicopathological features of follicular mucinosis (FM) in those with hematologic malignancies except mycosis fungoides (MF). They identified 18 subjects diagnosed with FM and systemic hematologic malignancies between 1994 and 2017 without cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). Among them, 9 candidates already had hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). During a mean follow-up of 4.3 years, no non-CTCL linked FM cases developed CTCL. They differentiated FM in patients with non-CTCL hematologic malignancies clinically from MF-associated FM due to having erythematous papules, being without plaques, without alopecia, and without histopathologically identified epidermal exocytosis.
